Highlights of Chicago

Crowley

Chicago-style pizza from Pizzaria Uno. (The cornmeal crust is the best!)

Deep dish sundae also from Pizzaria Uno.

Taking the Chicago Architecture Boat Tour...and drinking a bottle of champagne.

Dinner and drinks with Sheela and Joey!

Rolling down the hill near the Field Museum.

Chicago-style hot dog...mmm!

Garrett's popcorn - caramel mixed with cheese.

Albert and I went to Chicago for 4 days to visit Joey and Sheela. (Joey and I lived together for almost five years. And Sheela will be graduating soon and got a position in Amsterdam!) This is my second time to Chicago in the adult phase of my life. Even though it's my birthplace, I did way more touristy things this time - and it was fun!

Joey and Sheela - Thanks for showing us around and taking care of us. We had a blast!

Kressler and Rodel Were In Santa Cruz!

Yay! Ate tons of food and showed them all the highlights of Santa Cruz, including a hike through UCSC (no banana slugs, sadly), bike ride along West Cliff, and riding the Giant Dipper twice at the Boardwalk. Whee!

The Dirty Somethings

Ran another 5K obstacle course with friends in Irvine. They seem to get easier and easier the more you do them. Unlike the Warrior Dash, this one focused mostly on mud, which provided a much needed means for cooling oneself whilst running. Our team name was The Dirty Somethings with an individual name for each person. I was Dirty Turbo (because I couldn't think of anything and because the idea of being called Turbo makes me giggle. Next time, I'll go with Dirty Schmutzdecke.) Thanks for sharing these pics, Kressler!

Shuck Yeah!

Partook in oysters at the Tomales Bay Oyster Company near Point Reyes, CA. Stats - 7 people, 50 small oysters, 50 medium oysters, another dozen medium oysters, and a dozen large oysters. THAT'S 124 OYSTERS! Some were consumed raw, others were barbequed on the half shell or fully in the shell. And let me tell you, shucking is so much fun.

It's the Best State Fair in the State!

Went to the State Fair with Joey and Albert. It was my third time going, but a first for both Joey and Albert. I like looking at all the exhibits they have, but my main goal was to pig out on junk food! Sadly, I only partook in a super corn dog and some deep fried veggies, but still awesome nonetheless. (The super corn dog is two hot dogs on a stick dipped in batter.)

This year they had an exhibit on animation with lots of cool stuff from Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros. and others. If I had the money, I would have purchased some wall art.

Wile E. Coyote...suuuuper genius!

I regret not bringing my parasol with me. So hot!
