Off With the Sleeves!

Still trying to curb excessive spending by sewing my own garments or altering existing ones. The dress pictured below used to have 3/4 length sleeves that were just too tight due to the elastic banding. I chopped off the excess fabric to make short sleeves and hemmed the edge with my sewing machine. Since the fabric is stretchy and because I don't have a walking foot on my machine, I hemmed the sleeve edge by pinning it some tissue paper. I still had to adjust the fabric every now and then while I was sewing, but I'm really happy with the result!
